The Day I Was Born

On the day before I was born, Mommy was having some mild Braxton Hicks contractions and was bleeding. But the doctor told her that I wasn't ready to come out yet.  Maybe a few more days.

So Mommy went home, got a manicure/pedicure, and then decided to walk 8 laps around the Weehawken Track while carrying me.  I believe that is 2 miles! About 3 hours after that, Mommy began having contractions.  And then the next day, I was born!  Daddy said when the doc pulled me out, my eyes were wide open and looking around!

Holy crap! I was pissed!  It was so cold and bright! What the heck???  This is probably the most Chinese I'll ever look.

I was born at 10:20-something pm.  I was 7lbs 9ozs and 22 inches. I was born vaginally after about 24 hours of labor, 1 hour of pushing, an epidural (which Mommy to this day won't stop raving about), an episiotomy, and a vacuum.  The cord was wrapped around my neck during labor  which caused my heartbeat to slow down every time Mommy lay a certain way.  I got a little stuck in Mommy's pelvis but everything turned out ok!  Daddy was such a great coach!! I could hear him cheering Mommy on the entire time when she was pushing!
